Nychair X was created in 1970 by Japanese designer Takeshi Nii. The chair boasts a simple yet beautiful and functional design that can be placed anywhere.

The newly relaunched Nychair X80 was created in 1980, 10 years after the launch of the original Nychair X. It was developed to meet the changing needs of the times, as people moved from a low seated living environment with tatami mats, to a more westernized lifestyle with chairs.

While maintaining the enveloping comfort of the original chair, the seat height was set higher than that of the original Nychair X, and the backrest was foldable to make it more compact and easier to carry. This lightweight (approx. 6kg) and portable director style chair, is perfect to use in many scenes; at a cabin, in a home or balcony/garden, to relax, or while having a conversation with friends and family.
